Workshop Objectives:

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify Types of Difficult Conversations
    Understand the various scenarios that can lead to challenging discussions with students, including academic performance issues, personal crises, and behavioral concerns.
  2. Employ Effective Communication Techniques
    Learn and practice active listening, empathy, and assertiveness strategies to facilitate constructive dialogue.
  3. Manage Emotional Responses
    Develop skills to remain calm and composed during high-stakes conversations. This will help de-escalate tension and foster a positive interaction, especially when discussing reasonability with accommodation-related needs.
