Renee聽Colsch, PhD, RN, SCRN, CQ 聽has a passion and specialty in neuroscience nursing. She is a nurse scientist, Air Force combat veteran, Center for Health Equity Research Alumni, and VA Quality Scholars fellow with 19 years of professional nursing experience; of those 12 years in academia. Her professional experience includes acute care nursing in the intensive care unit, emergency room. Her teaching centers on pathophysiology/pharmacology/physical assessment, evidence-based practice, leadership, and nursing professional development, which includes learning theories, modalities, education technologies, design, strategies, project management, change management, and leadership.聽She views the teacher as the facilitator of learning. Her teaching focuses on cultural awareness and sensitivity, holistic nursing, bringing technology into the classroom and practice, evidence-based practice, research, learning, and retention. Her research centers on improving the quality of care, and aims to improve health care quality by reducing inequities and closing the gap on ethnic/racial sex differences. Specifically, she aims to reduce health inequities among stroke and disenfranchised racial and ethnic minority women and women Veterans through symptomatology health promotion, prevention, and early detection.
