Associate professor of exercise and sport science Rebecca Busanich, PhD, was published in Psychology Today on the importance of resisting cultural narratives around body weight.
"[T]here are things we can each do as individuals, small acts of resistance every day, that can lead to healthier outcomes for all of us. It starts by throwing away your scale. Human weight is meant to fluctuate and differentiate, and there are way too many factors that go into that number to have it give us any indication of health. It is time to stop focusing on weight and start focusing instead on health behaviors."
