The 2016 Abigail Quigley McCarthy Center for Women Awards Celebration


Members of St. Kate's community celebrated the accomplishments of students, faculty, staff and alumnae at the annual Abigail Quigley McCarthy Center for Women Awards Celebration this Wednesday. Congratulations to award recipients for their accomplishments.

The Abigail Quigley McCarthy Center for Women鈥檚 Research, Resources, and Scholarship is committed to open, honest dialogue about tough issues and a belief in the necessity of work for justice, building a community of faculty and student scholars and activists working on issues of race, class, gender, and other differences.

The Center for Women is named after Abigail Quigley McCarthy, a 1936 graduate of the College of St. Catherine who distinguished herself as an award-winning college teacher, author, and supporter of movements for civil rights and peace. She was respected for her character, courage, and perceptive commentaries on contemporary American life, especially regarding women鈥檚 contributions and experiences.
