Physical therapy faculty earn accolades

Three faculty members in 亚色影库鈥檚 doctor of physical therapy (DPT) program have received awards for their published work. Debra Sellheim, Ph.D. and Lisa Dutton, Ph.D. were recognized by the Journal of Physical Therapy Education with the Stanford Award. Laura Gilchrist, Ph.D. received the Gudas Award from the American Physical Therapy Association.

The Stanford Award recognizes authors of a paper containing the most influential educational ideas. Professor Sellheim and Assistant Professor Dutton co-wrote 鈥溾 The article appeared in the November 2017 issue of the Journal of Physical Therapy Education. Sellheim and Dutton鈥檚 study focused on third-year physical therapy students from 13 educational programs and explored how the students experience and cope with the differences between their curriculum and clinical practice.

The Steve Gudas Award for Outstanding Publication in Rehabilitation Oncology recognizes those whose written publication resulted in advancement of the practice of oncology physical therapy. Professor Gilchrist, along with colleague Lynn Tanner, PT, wrote "." Gilchrist and Tanner received their award at a meeting of the American Physical Therapy Association on February 23.
