The awards project grants to support touring performance exhibitions and other related arts activities throughout Minnesota. The O鈥橲haughnessy was one of forty grant recipients awarded on November 1.
The $68,000 grant will allow The O鈥橲haughnessy to host singer, songwriter, and activist Toshi Reagon and the cast of her operatic adaptation of Parable of the Sower, by Octavia Butler. The residency will include two performances and all ages outreach activities.
鈥淚'm grateful for such generous support, which allows us the opportunity to bring great art to St. Kate鈥檚 and our community,鈥 said The O鈥橲haughnessy Director Kathleen Spehar. 鈥淭his is another project that will provide excellent opportunities to connect our students with women artists and great art.鈥
