Dean Anne Weyandt advocates for educational justice in Star Tribune

College for Adults dean Anne Weyandt '83 was published in the opinion section of the Star Tribune in late May. Her column, "," discusses the importance of educational justice in both public and nonpublic schools. She advocates for the Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit, which, if passed, would improve school's ability to serve low- and middle-income students in Minnesota.

Weyandt serves as dean of the College for Adults. She is also a St. Kate's alumna of '83, holding a bachelor of arts degree in political science as well two subsequent degrees. Weyandt returned to St. Kate's in 2014 and provides leadership not only for the College for Adults, but for the adult bachelor's program, St. Kate's Minneapolis campus, and the Leadership Institute.

To do this, we need to eliminate barriers to enrollment in nonpublic and private schools that have strong records of achievement for children affected by poverty and exclusionary racial practices."
