Religion and Spirituality with CSSJ
We acknowledge and respect everyone in their beliefs and spiritual journeys. We actively support students in their religious affiliations with all faith traditions. Some of these include:
- Meeting with our Muslim Chaplain and partnering with local Muslim community organizations.
- Partnering with local Jewish Synagogues and community organizations to support Jewish students.
- For further information contact spiritandjustice@skate.edu for off-campus resources.
St. Kate's/CSJ Food Access Hub
Good nutrition is necessary for productive learning, and we strive to help students maintain a healthy diet. To support students who may be facing food insecurity, the CSSJ has partners with faculty and staff from across the University to run a food shelf for the St. Kate鈥檚 community.
Any student is welcome to create a bag of groceries that services their needs. We offer fresh fruits and vegetables, breads, and an assortment of other foods that will provide a balanced diet.

Volunteers Needed!
We are seeking volunteer support for the first and third Wednesdays of each month (except July, only third Wednesday) from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. We are also seeing support with food delivery stocking on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month. If you are bilingual in Spanish, Hmong, ASL or Somali, your support is very much needed. All volunteers will be provided with additional orientation and training.

Travel with CSSJ
The CSSJ also has a long tradition of providing alternative spring breaks and other travel experiences for students. In 2019, students went on a pilgrimage to Le Puy, France, the city where the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet were founded. In the past, we have taken students to Denver, Kansas City, Selma, Georgia, El Salvador, Rome, and Peru.
These trips offer students a unique opportunity to witness social injustices through a lens of faith. Join us to learn about other cultures, the root causes of various social justice issues, and about how trip experiences and themes have an impact on our lives at St. Kate's.
