Caecilian Hall

Caecilian Hall is known for its elegant interior and original woodwork. Each room in Caecilian Hall is unique. A variety of single and double rooms are available. Each floor has about 25 residents, providing a smaller community.

Located on the edge of the quad, Caecilian is close to the Visual Arts building, performing arts in The O'Shaughnessy and Music Building, and the science departments in Mendel. The fitness facilities of Butler Center and the student center, Coeur de Catherine, are just a short walk across the quad.

History

Caecilian Hall opened in 1921 and originally served as the music building, complete with practice rooms, faculty studios, and a recital hall. The building was remodeled in 1982 for its current use as a residence hall.

Crandall Hall

Entrance of Crandall Hall

Crandall Hall is a small, quiet building of double and single rooms. The building houses approximately 55 students on three floors, creating a smaller, supportive community for a successful first year at St. Kate's.

It is conveniently located near the library and the Butler Center.

History

Crandall Hall opened in 1968. The building is named for women's rights activist Prudence Crandall (1803–1890), a white woman who opened a school in New England for black women in 1833.

St. Mary Hall

St. Mary Hall is the largest residence hall on campus with mostly double rooms.

The building is conveniently located a short walk from Coeur de Catherine, the student center, as well as the library. The fitness facilities at the Butler Center are just across the street.

History

St. Mary Hall was dedicated in 1961. The building was financed with a $1 million National Defense Loan and was completed one year after groundbreaking. The Early Childhood Center moved into the lower level of the building in 1990.

Stanton Hall

Stanton Hall

Stanton Hall includes mostly double rooms with some singles in a small community

It is conveniently located near the library and the Butler Center.

History 

Stanton Hall was completed in 1968. The building is named for Elizabeth Cady Stanton (1815–1902), suffragist and early leader in the American women's movement.

Our suites and apartments include private and share bedrooms.


Alberta and Georgia Apartments

Alberta and Georgia Apartments are primarily available to families and graduate students. Undergraduate students over 20 years of age, may apply to live in Alberta and Georgia. One- and two-bedroom apartments are available.

Please note that Georgia will be closed June 2023 through June 2024 for renovations, so space in campus apartments will be limited. To learn more, please email us at residencelife@stkate.edu. We will send you details about the impact of closing Georgia.

History 

The Alberta Hall apartments are named for Alberta Huber ’37, CSJ (1917–2007), seventh president of ÑÇÉ«Ó°¿â (1964–1979). Sister Alberta's steady hand guided the University through times of change and she was instrumental in seeing St. Kate's remain a women's college.

Completed in 1980, Georgia Hall is named for Georgia Morrison, CSJ (1874–1971), one of the first Sisters at the University. Sister Georgia spent 56 years at St. Kate's and was a favorite among students, serving as mentor and adviser to many young women.

Morrison Hall

Morrison Hall offers suites and apartments. Morrison and Rauenhorst Halls are connected by Visitation Commons, a community space featuring a beautiful lobby with fireplace, meeting spaces, kitchen, and reception desk.

Suites: Each suite includes 4-single rooms or units with 2-single and 1-double room. Up to four residents share a living room, kitchenette, and private bathroom.

Apartments: Each apartment includes single bedrooms, but each apartment is shared with up to 3 to 4 residents. Each apartment includes a full kitchen, living room, and 1 bathroom per two students.

History 

Morrison Hall was completed in 2007. The building is named for Susan Schmid Morrison '60, a trustee of the University from 1996–2005 and a current active member of the Development Committee.

Rauenhorst Hall

History 

Rauenhorst Hall was completed in 2007. The building is named in honor of Henrietta Schmoll Rauenhorst ’49, a former trustee of ÑÇÉ«Ó°¿â and currently trustee emeritus. She and her husband Gerry founded Opus Corporation, builder of the residence hall bearing her name as well as Susan Schmid Morrison Hall and Coeur de Catherine.
