Workshop on Aging

- : Outlook iCal

In this session, teams of students work through a case study related to an older adult and share knowledge and care planning from their disciplines’ perspectives. A large group debrief occurs as part of this learning activity.

This is a team experience learning activity with the following learning outcomes:

  1. Prioritize the older adult’s needs in the case study in collaboration with other professionals.
  2. Demonstrate awareness and modify professional practice according to cultural diversity and differences that characterize patients, populations, and health teams.
  3. Communicate with team members to clarify each member’s responsibility in developing components of a care plan for an older adult.
  4. Recognize one’s limitations in skills, knowledge, and abilities during the development of a team-based care plan for an older adult.
  5. Identify the unique cultures, values, roles/responsibilities, and expertise of other health professions as they relate to developing a team care plan for an older adult.
