Q: How will returning students be billed?
A: Returning College for Women (CFW) students will continue with the structure that was in place at the time of their admission and will be billed on a per-credit rate through completion of their degree. College for Women students who leave and are required to follow the process for re-enrollment through Admissions for Fall 2021 or later to the University will be billed under the banded tuition structure upon their return. Continuing CFW students who opt in to the 2022-2023 Undergraduate Academic Catalog in May 2022, will be billed under the banded tuition structure beginning fall 2022.
Q: Can I opt into the banded tuition structure?
A: No, students are assigned to a tuition structure based on their college and term of admission or re-enrollment. For College for Women students, at 16 credits per term the per-credit tuition rate will be equivalent to the banded rate.
Q: Will any fees be charged in addition to banded tuition?
A: Yes, existing student fees will continue to be charged. These fees include the Student Activity Fee and the Technology Fee which will be charged each semester in addition to tuition. Nursing students will be charged the Nursing Program Fee each semester after they have been formally admitted to the major program. Please refer to Student Accounts for other fee assessments and annual rates.

A: The University is implementing banded tuition for the College for Women following a multi-year review of tuition structures and options to align with our Academic Master Plan and optimize the student experience and outcomes, which include clear academic pathways and timely completion. Banded tuition provides students and families a predictable semester-based tuition expense, and families can receive the most accurate billing statements earlier to help plan their finances.
Q: How will J-term classes for College for Women students be billed?
A: J-term is part of the spring semester at 亚色影库. For new students, J-term credits will count toward the spring semester 12-18 credit band.
Q: Does Banded Tuition apply to summer courses?
A: No. All students will pay a per-credit rate for summer session courses.

Q: Does banded tuition apply to online courses?
A: Yes. While most College for Women courses are delivered on campus, there may be some online courses available to students that apply to their degree. These online courses will count toward the 12 to 18 credit band without an additional fee.
Q: What if I鈥檓 enrolled in fewer than 12 credit hours?
A: Students enrolled in fewer than 12 credit hours will pay the per-credit tuition rate plus required fees.
Q: What if I鈥檓 enrolled in more than 18 credit hours?
A: Students who enroll in more than 18 credit hours in a semester will pay the banded rate plus the per-credit rate for each credit hour over 18 plus required fees.
Q: Do I need to appeal to take fewer than 12 or more than 18 credits?
A: Students do not need to appeal and will automatically be billed on a per-credit basis if they register for fewer than 12 credits. Students taking fewer than 12 credits should work with their academic advisor to ensure timely graduation and contact the Financial Aid Office (finaid@stkate.edu) to determine the impact on aid. Most scholarships require full-time enrollment.
Students who plan to register for more than 18 credits must meet with their academic advisor for approval.
Q: Will returning students pay more than new students who are billed under the banded structure?
A: Returning College for Women students will not pay more than new students. At 16 credits per term, the per-credit tuition rate will be equivalent to the banded rate. Returning students will be at varying levels of earned and remaining credits to completion; some will need less than 32 credits per year remaining to graduate in four years and some will need more.
Q: Will College for Adult or Graduate College students pay banded tuition?
A: No, banded tuition only applies to new College for Women students.
Q: Will a student who takes a leave of absence return under the banded billing structure?
A: College for Women students who take a leave of absence and return within one semester will return to the same billing structure they were on prior to taking their leave.
Q: What if I begin to struggle while taking more than 12 credits in a semester?
A: Our academic advisors, financial aid counselors, and other University staff and faculty are here to help you make the best decisions about your academic plan and impact on your financial aid according to your personal circumstances. Students should consult with their academic and financial aid counselor before withdrawing from a class.
Q: Will I be charged banded tuition for study abroad?
A: The cost to study abroad varies by the study abroad program. College for Women students who study abroad will work with the Office of Global Studies to determine the cost. In general, students will pay the banded tuition rate for the applicable semester plus a study abroad program fee. Study abroad scholarships are available through the Office of Global Studies to help offset the additional expenses associated with study abroad.
Q: Will my financial aid eligibility be impacted by banded tuition?
A: Scholarships and aid will be offered based on the 12-18 credit full-time enrollment within the band. The Minnesota State Grant varies depending on the number of registered credits, and the grant amount will change for students registered for fewer than 15 credits. Students registered for fewer than 12 credits may have reduced financial aid eligibility and should contact their financial aid counselor.
