My nursing career began in 1994 after receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Nursing (BAN) from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota. My husband鈥檚 career with the Army relocated our family several times across the nation over the next twenty years. Each move provided me with unique opportunities to advance my training, enrich my experience, and heighten my versatility within multiple specialties of nursing. I have worked in a variety of areas of Nursing all over the US prior to finding my home at St. Kates including; Med/Surg in Texas and Kansas, Pediatric Rehab in Kentucky, OB in Kansas, Telephone Triage in California, College Health in Colorado, Community Health, Urgent Care, and currently I work as a perioperative nurse in MN.聽Realizing a desire to share my knowledge with those aspiring to be nurses in the future, I decided to broaden my career into teaching. I received my Master of Science in Nursing Education from St. Catherine鈥檚 University in 2013 and began work in the School of Nursing at St. Kates in January of 2014. I have worked in the Associate Degree Program, the College for Women, and the College for Adults. I currently work as a clinical instructor and community and public health clinical liaison. Outside of nursing and teaching, I love spending time with my family and two golden retrievers. Three of our four adult children have attended the University of Minnesota and our youngest son attends and plays football for Gustavus. I love spending time with my family, traveling, and spending time outdoors.
