Social Work

Transform Lives and Make a Difference

St. Kate's comprehensive and innovative social work program prepares students for a career in social justice.

Help Individuals, Families, and Communities Thrive.

Become a leader in human rights and social, racial, economic, and environmental justice by applying practice-informed research to work with individuals, families, and communities.

At 亚色影库, you will learn from highly-qualified faculty who are experts in their fields and specialize in several areas including child welfare, social welfare policy, anti-racist practice, and clinical practice with individuals and families.

Through cross-cultural social work, you will cultivate practical skills that pave the way for impactful social justice work in multiple areas of practice. These areas include direct service, community organizing, supervision, consultation, administration, advocacy, social and political action, policy development, research, and evaluation.

Field education is where social work theory meets practice in real-world settings. As a junior and senior with a major in social work, you鈥檒l gain hands-on learning opportunities in a variety of settings, including case management, community education and organizing, crisis intervention, policy and planning, group counseling, and more. Working alongside a licensed social worker during 400 hours of field placement, you will graduate prepared to take the licensure exam required to practice social work in Minnesota.

Students are also encouraged to join the Social Work Club to engage in networking, professional development, community service, social events, and more.

Students who meet the qualifications can apply for accelerated admission to the St. Kate鈥檚 Master of Social Work program.
