The ÑÇÉ«Ó°¿â golf team on Monday afternoon in St. Cloud, Minn. The win was the Wildcats' second consecutive and fifth in seven years. The team carded a 54-hole team score of 904 (+40), tied for the lowest championship round in MIAC history and 31 strokes ahead of the second-place team, Carleton College.
The team was led by senior Kyra Venne ’25, who claimed her second MIAC individual win, carding a round of 222 (+6). In her final 18-holes, Venne went one under par for a 71 (-1) recording four birdies in her round, tying her score from the final day of the 2023 MIAC Championships. Venne's final score overall also ties with her 54-hole round from the 2022-23 Championship where she also claimed the individual title.
In third place individually was sophomore Grace Petzold ’27, who was one stroke shy of the runner up as she finished with a three-day score of 228 (+12). In the final round, Petzold shot 76 (+4) with two birdies and ten pars.
Fellow sophomore Macey Martin ’27 finished her first MIAC Championship in fifth individually shooting a six over par 78 on Monday, for a three-day score of 231 (+15). Senior Paige Hillman ’25 finished the round in ninth individually, shooting 82 (+10) in the third round for a overall score of 235 (+19). One stroke behind Hillman was senior Morgan Anderson ’25, who move up five places while shooting a four-over par 76 to finish tenth overall with a 54-hole score of 236 (+20).
For the first-time in program history, the Wildcats had all five competing golfers finish in the top 10, and are just the fourth team in conference history to do so (Carleton 2018-19, Concordia 2000-01, Concordia 1995-96).
St. Kate's record-setting fall continues as the five conference players will travel to Sandestin, Florida October 13-15 for the Golfweek Division III Fall Invitational.
